Taqaddum Party Announces Resignation from Government Positions and Parliamentary Committees

Baghdad - The Taqaddum Party has declared the resignation of its government representatives and from the presidencies of parliamentary committees. In a statement, the party outlined its commitment to political agreements and support for government institutions since the formation of the current government over a year ago.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement further elaborated on the party's decision, which came in response to the Federal Court’s ruling terminating the membership of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Rekan Al-Halbousi. The Taqaddum Party described the court's decision as a blatant constitutional violation and clear political targeting. Following this, the party decided to boycott the State Administration Coalition sessions, resign its representatives in the federal government, including high-profile ministers, and withdraw its members from leading roles in parliamentary committees. This also includes a political boycott by the party's members in the House of Representatives during Council sessions.
