Najaf: The head of the Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, confirmed on Wednesday that the funeral procession for Sayyid Ali Khamenei in Najaf is being closely monitored. In a video statement, Maan emphasized the extensive security measures in place to manage the procession, focusing on both the overpasses and the streets of the 1920 Revolution area in Najaf.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Maan highlighted that the Supreme Committee for Million-Person Pilgrimages is actively involved in overseeing the event. The head of the committee is in coordination with the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations to ensure the procession’s safety and orderliness. The funeral procession has covered approximately 1.5 kilometers since it began, with security and intelligence agencies, the police command, and the Supreme Committee all playing critical roles in its monitoring.
Maan has called on all mourners to cooperate with the security forces and follow instructions to maintain the planned flow of the procession. This cooperation is deemed essential to ensure the event proceeds smoothly and safely.
