Technical Recommendations to Support Arab Sports Discussed in Baghdad


Baghdad: Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Al-Mubarqa emphasized the significance of Iraq hosting the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers meeting, highlighting the strong fraternal ties among Arab nations and promoting collaborative efforts in youth and sports domains.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mubarqa stated during the Technical Sports Committee meeting held at Babylon Hotel in Baghdad, that such gatherings facilitate the exchange of experiences and bolster collaborative work among Arab countries, contributing to the advancement of the youth and sports sectors in the region.



He further mentioned that Iraq aims to enhance its presence in Arab and international forums, demonstrating a commitment to supporting initiatives that benefit youth and sports in the Arab world. The meeting evaluated proposals from member states to implement joint sports programs and activities, slated for adoption in the upcoming session of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers. Additionally, recommendations were submitted to the Executive Office to establish a mechanism for conducting sports activities considering the challenges posed by the Corona pandemic. Discussions also covered the preparations for the 14th Arab Games, which Iraq was originally set to host in 2021.
