Tel aviv: The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported on Friday that Tel Aviv has objected to the United States selling F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia. The report highlighted Tel Aviv’s concerns over potential impacts on its military strategic advantage in the Middle East.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Israeli security establishment has expressed its objection to any compromise on the qualitative air superiority of the Israeli army in the region. The concern stems from the belief that the sale of F-35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia could undermine this edge. However, despite its reservations, Israel has not officially voiced its opposition to the deal.

The US State Department recently approved a potential sale of military equipment to Saudi Arabia, which includes F-35 Lightning II fighter jets and related equipment. The department emphasized that the proposed sale, estimated at a total cost of $24.3 billion, would not negatively affect the defense readiness of the United States. This assurance was made in an official statement released on Friday.
