Baghdad: Authorities in Thailand announced that the death toll from the powerful earthquake that struck the capital, Bangkok, yesterday has reached 6 dead, 22 injured, and 101 missing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, authorities had previously announced that the death toll was 10, before lowering it to 6, noting that first responders mistook some critical cases at the scene for those injured, believing them to be dead. However, upon arrival at the hospital, doctors were able to revive them.

A 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Thai capital, Bangkok, on Friday. Thai authorities reported damage to buildings across Bangkok following the earthquake. Police reported that a 30-story skyscraper under construction completely collapsed, trapping 43 workers under the rubble.

The powerful earthquake also shook neighboring Myanmar, causing extensive damage.
