Anbar: A joint force of the Iraqi Army and the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) conducted a security operation on Wednesday in Al-Karma Island district, within the eastern Anbar Operations Command.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the PMF media office indicated that a force from the 27th Special Operations Brigade of the PMF and the Iraqi Army launched a security operation that began at the Tigris River and the dry riverbed, passing through the Bani Zaid area and ending in Abu Dalaf area deep within the island.

The statement added, “The operation resulted in the seizure of a number of unlicensed weapons, in addition to clearing large areas deep within the island.”
