Baiji: A security source announced the causes of the explosion at Baiji refinery. The source said: The malfunction that caused the explosion of the furnace of Unit 109 of the Northern Refineries Company in Baiji district occurred during the trial operation of the fat refinery.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a security source announced this morning that a fire broke out, caused by an explosion in one of the oil refining units at Baiji refinery in Salah al-Din Governorate, and civil defense teams began extinguishing it.
