The Dawa Party Denounces The Ongoing Turkish Attacks, Including The Recent Crime In Zakho/ More

Baghdad The Shura Council of the Islamic Dawa Party held its regular meeting today, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the party, to discuss the items on its agenda, with regard to national political developments, and developments at the regional and international levels.

The Shura Council affirmed that the Islamic Dawa Party is the school of giving and the address of sacrifice, jihad and resistance, and it made its way with sincerity in working for Islam, defending the Iraqi people, and striving for its freedom and rights, and imprinted its own mark on important events in the history of Iraq as an authentic Islamic organization. It has set strategic goals that it has dedicated itself to achieving, and great tasks that it does not occupy itself with.

The Shura Council affirmed that the plans to ignite blind strife in Iraq and bet on the internal fighting between the sons of the largest component has not stopped and will not be interrupted, and it has been continuing since the fall of the defunct Baath regime in 2003, which its fall affected many internal and external parties, as there was a change in the equation of power and governance.

The Shura Council commended the awareness of our people in curbing the sedition instigators who are not keen on the blood of Iraqis and their supreme interests in security and stability.

It continued: “It was clear that the goal behind the fabricated recordings is to be preoccupied with side battles, and it seems that there are intelligence agencies and countries that want Iraq to pay the tax of its legislation criminalizing normalization. There is no doubt that these fabricated recordings are greater than the capabilities of one person, but rather countries and hostile parties are behind them.”

The Shura Council highly appreciated the responsible stances of many Islamic and national leaders, which raised their performance to a high level in the speed of cordoning off unjust slanders, showing concern for the unity of the ranks, and not being drawn into side conflicts. It expressed hope that everyone would focus on the major internal and external challenges.

The party pointed out that our call pledges the supreme religious authority, the legitimate leadership of our nation, to obedience and compliance with its valuable directives in working for the sake of Islam, the faith, the people and the homeland.

It stressed that our party expresses its pride in its relations with Islamic and national political parties and blocs, through cooperating together, we have achieved great gains for the people of all its components.

The Shura Council commended the role of the clans, their generous initiatives, and their responsible statements, which stood as an impenetrable barrier to incitement to sedition, and called for reforming the bonds and unity among the members of the same house.

The Shura Council affirmed support for the Secretary-General’s efforts to form a strong and capable government that raises its performance to the level of internal and external challenges, restores the prestige of the state, and provides the necessary services to our people according to a transparent and practical government program that can be evaluated and marked with specific time limits.

It pointed out that the coordination framework has withstood the challenges, and has proven its ability to preserve its unity and cohesion and to efficiently manage the political process at this stage, a project that expresses the hopes and aspirations of the larger component and is keen on its entitlements and role.

It indicated that Iraq’s regional and international relations should serve its supreme interests, express the trends and values of its people, not deviate from balance, and keep away from line-ups with conflicting axes in the region.

The Shura Council denounced the continuous Turkish attacks, including the recent crime that targeted a number of innocent people in Zakho, calling on the Turkish government to provide an official apology, compensate the families of the martyrs and the wounded, pledge not to repeat the attacks, respect Iraq’s sovereignty, and complete withdrawal from Iraqi lands.

It stressed that the Iraqi government must firmly assume its responsibility to protect the Iraqi people and their rights to their waters and the sanctity of their lands.
