The first wave of torrential rains coming from Iran flowed towards two border areas, east of Diyala

Baquba Two border areas, east of Diyala, witnessed the flow of water torrents coming from the Iranian highlands.

A local source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the water torrents coming from the Iraqi-Iranian border began to flow towards the rivers and valleys of Qazania and Mandali districts east of Diyala through the Oil Valley.

He added that the reason for the flow of water torrents is the inability of the Mandali and Qazania dams to absorb them as a result of mud sedimentation and burial due to the absence of maintenance and dredging operations for long periods. Indicating that the water torrents will provide sufficient water to irrigate agricultural lands.
