Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, bilateral relations and ways to develop them.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “At the beginning of the meeting, Hussein expressed his thanks for the visit of his Tunisian counterpart,” expressing his “welcome to holding the work of the (17th) session of the joint Iraqi-Tunisian committee again after its last meeting held in 2019.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that “this committee constitutes an additional station for strengthening the ties of brotherhood and strengthening the existing cooperation relations between the two countries, and raising them to the level of effective partnership,” noting “the importance of the relationship between the two brotherly countries.”

He stressed “the necessity of developing the economy through tourism because of its role in developing the economic and social aspects between the tw
o countries.”

The statement explained that during the meetings of the ‘Joint Committee, the Iraqi-Tunisian Businessmen Forum will be opened and a number of memorandums of understanding and agreements in various fields will be signed, which will strengthen ties between the two brotherly countries.
