The General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage Concludes Anti-Drug Awareness Program

Baghdad: The General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage has successfully concluded its awareness program aimed at combating drug-related issues. The program, conducted in collaboration with the Iraqi National Security Service, wrapped up with a fifth and final lecture in the Donny George Hall. This event saw the participation of staff from the Iraqi Manuscript House and the Department of Maintenance and Preservation of Antiquities, highlighting the Authority's ongoing efforts to promote community awareness, foster a culture of prevention, and strengthen ties with security agencies to protect society.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the concluding lecture delved into the multifaceted consequences of drug use, covering health, psychological, social, and security aspects. It also examined the factors contributing to the spread of drugs and outlined preventive measures. Attendees received practical guidance aimed at boosting awareness and enhancing both individual and community responsibility in tackling this critical issue.

Dr. Ali Ghanem Hussein, the Assistant Director General of the Department of Archaeological Studies, Research, and Training, emphasized that the collaborative program between the Authority and the National Security Service underscores the Authority's dedication to its awareness-raising role. He noted that alongside its cultural mission, the Authority believes that fostering community awareness and safeguarding individuals are essential for preserving the nation's present and securing the future of its children.
