The Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, agreed to invest potable water from one of the projects for desalination of sea water to the people of Khor Al-Zubair, west of the province.
An official document issued by the Basra Water Directorate stated, “This project will be implemented by the Water Injection Authority of the Basra Oil Company and the French Total Energy Company,” indicating that “the amount of potable water is estimated at (160,000) cubic meters per day, with a capacity of (5) million barrels per day.” .
The document added, “There will be a study and a presentation on the subject.”
