Baghdad: The office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, extended its condolences and sympathy to the people of Kut following the tragic incident caused by a fire that broke out in one of the city's shopping centers, resulting in a large number of deaths and injuries.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a statement of condolence, al-Sistani expressed deep sorrow and grief upon receiving the heartbreaking news of the fire, which claimed the lives of dozens and left many others injured. The statement conveyed solidarity with the people of Kut, especially the bereaved families, offering them heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy.
The statement prayed for mercy upon the victims, patience and solace for their families, and a speedy recovery for the injured, affirming that "there is no power nor strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Almighty."
