Baghdad: The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency announced the dismantling of a money laundering and gambling den in the Karkh district of Baghdad.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Agency reported that proactive intelligence efforts were conducted by the Intelligence Agency detachments, specifically the Federal Police Intelligence. These efforts, which included precise intelligence gathering and diligent field monitoring, targeted suspicious activities and locations. The Agency successfully identified a residential house in Baghdad’s Karkh district that had been converted into a secret gambling hall. The establishment featured games such as roulette and blackjack and served as a hideout for individuals with criminal backgrounds and other suspicious elements.
The Agency explained that after completing the necessary legal procedures and securing judicial warrants, the house was raided. During the operation, three suspects were apprehended *in flagrante delicto* while engaging in gambling activities. All items associated with the crime, including gambling equipment and materials related to the illicit activities, were confiscated. The confessions of the suspects were recorded and subsequently ratified by the judiciary.
