Kirkuk: Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadawi, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, chaired a crucial meeting to discuss the security situation in the Zaghitoun and al-Shay valleys. This meeting is seen as a pivotal effort towards enhancing stability in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ahmed al-Nuaimi, the security advisor to the governor of Kirkuk, stated that the meeting took place at the Joint Operations Command headquarters. It was attended by key military and security figures, including the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, the Chief of Staff of the Command, the Commander of the Ground Forces, the Director of Military Intelligence, the Commander of the East Tigris Operations, a representative from the Counter-Terrorism Service, and the Commander of the 11th Division.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the efforts to support stability and facilitate the return of displaced persons, following the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The attendees also deliberated on the potential construction of the al-Zajji and Zaghitoun bridges, which would reconnect Kirkuk Governorate to Salah al-Din Governorate. This initiative aims to ensure the rehabilitation of villages, reopening of roads, supporting stability efforts, facilitating the return of displaced persons, and providing essential services to them.
