The Judicial Council promises to empower female judges to assume judicial positions

Baghdad / NINA / – The Supreme Judicial Council pledged to continue its endeavors to empower female judges to assume judicial positions commensurate with their distinguished capabilities in various judicial specialties.

The Head of the Judicial Council, Faeq Zaidan, said, during the activities of the celebration of the International Day of Women Judges, which began today, Friday, in Baghdad, that “the celebration of the International Day of Women Judges coincides with the International Women’s Day and the anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi Women Judges Association on March 8 of each year..and on this occasion I present in my name and on behalf of my fellow judges in Iraq, I extend my warmest congratulations to the female judges, and I wish them more success and brilliance.

Addressing the female judges, Zaidan pledged that “our efforts will continue to enable female judges to assume judicial positions that are commensurate with their distinguished capabilities in various judicial specialties, due to our absolute belief in these capabilities that have contributed to strengthening the positive image of the Iraqi judiciary.”

He added, “We will strive to increase the number of female judges as part of a well-thought-out plan that aims in general to increase the number of judges to reach the required percentage compared to” the number of the population of Iraq, while providing all the requirements for the success of the female judge while she is in the process of practicing her work in the courts alongside her fellow judge, as well as involving her in all activities aimed at developing judicial and legal capacities.”/ End
