The Minister of Culture opens a traditional wall that simulates the ancient Nineveh Wall

Mosul The Minister of Culture and Information, Ahmed Al-Fakak Al-Badrani, inaugurated a traditional wall that simulates the ancient Nineveh Wall.

Al-Fakak said in a press statement, “the wall that was opened in the Mohandessin neighborhood east of Mosul was contributed by donors from Mosul to rebuild the imitation wall as a substitute for the wall that ISIS demolished during its control of Mosul.

He explained that “the opening of the wall is a message that” Mosul can build a wall to restore the spirit of Mosul with its antiquities and heritage through models that simulate the history and legacy of Mosul.

ISIS had blown up and demolished dozens of archaeological sites in Nineveh, including the ancient Nineveh Wall.
