The Minister of Education Discusses With The Romanian Ambassador A Draft MoU For Scientific And Academic Cooperation

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, discussed with the Romanian Ambassador to Iraq, Radu Octavian Dobri, the development of scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Minister of Education affirmed that the ministry and its universities are looking forward to more coordination and cooperation with Romanian higher education institutions through a project that includes the exchange of experiences in the fields of higher education and scientific research and related prospects for mutual understanding.

He added that the Iraqi Ministry of Education is keen to conclude a memorandum of understanding with its Romanian counterpart and support more twinning programs between universities, scientific publishing, exchange of experiences and scholarships, especially after launching “Study in Iraq” initiative to receive international students in Iraqi universities.

For his part, the Romanian ambassador praised the interest of the Minister of Higher Education in international openness, achieving global cooperation and partnerships, and the embodiment of this interest in the “Study in Iraq” project, stressing at the same time his country’s readiness to develop scientific and academic cooperation to serve bilateral cooperation relations.
