The Minister of Foreign Affairs receives a copy of the credentials of the new Greek ambassador to Iraq

Baghdad Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received a copy of the credentials of Georgios Almanos, the new Greek ambassador to Iraq.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the minister expressed his aspiration to develop economic cooperation, especially in the field of port management, in addition to providing services to tourists, because the future of the tourism sector is promising in Iraq, calling on Greek companies to invest in Iraq, especially infrastructure reconstruction projects.

For his part, the Greek ambassador expressed his country’s keenness to raise the level of relations and deepen joint cooperation, including conducting political consultations, and signing a memorandum of understanding between the Investment Commission and the relevant Greek authorities, stressing that there are large companies and have extensive practical experience in the tourism sector from the private sector, ready to enter the Iraqi market, wishing Iraq success in hosting the Forum of Ancient Civilizations with the participation of ten Arab and foreign countries, which will be held in Baghdad on 12/4 /2022.

The ambassador stressed the importance of holding such forums that contribute to preserving the common interests of the peoples, and that the Greek Minister of Culture will represent Greece in the forum’s work.
