Baghdad: The Minister of Interior, who also serves as the Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee for the Million-Man Pilgrimage, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, chaired an expanded meeting at the Al-Mundhiriyah border crossing. The meeting was attended by the Diyala Governor, members of the Service Committee, security commanders, and several officers, with the main agenda focusing on the preparations for receiving Arbaeen pilgrims.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Minister highlighted the importance of resolving all issues related to the success of both the security and service aspects of the pilgrimage. He stressed the need to provide a suitable atmosphere for the pilgrims arriving through the crossing, which is expected to handle a significant influx. Al-Shammari emphasized organizing the route for the Husseini processions and pilgrims arriving on foot, stating that reinforcements would be deployed to Al-Mundhiriyah crossing to aid operations.

The Minister also issued directives to prevent armed manifestations, enhance intelligence efforts, address challenges, develop immediate solutions, and leverage past experiences in managing such large-scale pilgrimages. He engaged with the workers at the crossing, listened to their needs and requests, and directed that these be addressed accordingly.
