Basra: Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil, Hayyan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad, emphasized the importance of the Basra-Haditha pipeline project. The Ministry stated in a press release that Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil, Engineer Hayyan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad, chaired a meeting today, Sunday, regarding the Basra-Haditha pipeline project.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Minister stressed the importance of this project, which will supply crude oil from the south to Iraqi refineries in the central and northern regions. This development follows increased production rates at the North and Central Refineries Company and the commissioning of the Karbala refinery. He added that the pipeline will also be utilized for future exports via the Turkish port of Ceyhan.

The Minister indicated that the project includes two large-capacity storage tanks, as well as intermediate pumping stations, a control system, and other facilities. He noted that the Ministry has proceeded with the necessary procedures for the project.
