The Minister of Planning discusses with the Swedish Ambassador to support Iraq in the fields of agriculture, energy, and confronting climate change

Baghdad Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning Muhammad Ali Tamim received today, Wednesday, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Iraq, “Jessica Svardstom” and her accompanying delegation.

At the beginning of the meeting, Svardstom conveyed the congratulations of her government to the Iraqi government on the occasion of the start of its work, stressing the readiness of the Kingdom of Sweden to continue its support for Iraq’s efforts in various fields, and joint work to develop bilateral relations to serve the interests of the peoples of the two friendly countries.

The Minister of Planning expressed his high appreciation for Sweden’s supportive stances for Iraq, whether with regard to the security aspect, the war against terrorism, achieving stability, or related to supporting development plans in all fields, stressing that relations between Iraq and Sweden are among the oldest bilateral relations in the world, and therefore they are solid relationships based on common interests.

The two sides also discussed Iraq’s policy to confront climate changes, reduce its effects on social groups, and benefit from the Swedish experience in this field.
