The Chairman and members of the Ministerial Council for the Economy, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein, visited the census operations room, today, Monday, for the purpose of reviewing the preparations of the Ministry of Planning and the Statistics Authority, to conduct the general population and housing census on the twentieth of next November.
The Ministry of Planning stated in a statement: “The delegation of the Ministerial Council for the Economy included the Ministers of Finance, Industry and Minerals, Agriculture, Labor and Social Affairs, in addition to the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, the Prime Minister’s advisors for economic and legal affairs, as well as the Advisor to the Ministerial Council for the Economy, and a number of general managers and advisors in the Council.”
During the visit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Mohammed Ali Tamim
gave a briefing on the progress of work and preparations underway to conduct the general population census on its scheduled date, noting that all preparations have been completed, especially with the achievement of advanced rates of completion in the numbering and enumeration operations currently taking place in all governorates.
The head and members of the operations room provided a detailed explanation of the mechanisms of electronic work in the census, and the field follow-up of the work of enumerators in the field through the temporal and spatial fingerprints of the researcher’s movement in the field.
The National Census Advisor, Mahdi Al-Alaq, stressed: “Conducting the census electronically represents an important and advanced step that will contribute to reaching detailed results in record time,” stressing that the electronic systems that have been put in place to protect data are highly secure and very tight.
The head and members of the Ministerial Council for the Economy stressed the importance of
the general population census and the need to combine efforts to conduct it on its scheduled date of 11/20/2024.
