The Ministry of Culture Receives More Than 200 Artifacts Dating Back to Different Eras and Sites in Southern Iraq

Baghdad The Ministry of Culture announced today, Wednesday, the receipt of more than 200 archaeological pieces dating back to different eras and sites in southern Iraq.

The ministry said in a statement: “Today, we received a large number of antiquities dating back to different eras, some of whom are from the Islamic eras, some of them bearing Aramaic inscriptions, which are metal melting pots, Islamic metal coins, and various antiquities, including lamps, scrapers, knives, metal dolls, and glazed pottery jars of various sizes and shapes.

The ministry called on all citizens, governmental and non-governmental organizations to cooperate with the Antiquities Authority to return the stolen antiquities and work together to protect them from abuse and theft for the public interest.
