The Ministry of Planning Begins Discussing Priorities Of Projects Of Ministries And Entities Not Affiliated With A Ministry, In Preparation For The Annual Investment Plan For 2024

Baghdad, Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Planning began discussing proposals for the annual investment budget for the year 2024 for ministries and entities not affiliated with a ministry.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning for Technical Affairs, Maher Hammad Johan, said in a statement: Our focus in discussing the ministries’ plans will be on government program projects, and we started with the Ministry of Construction and Housing, as it is concerned with projects providing services to citizens, whether at the level of roads, water and sanitation services, and even municipal services and governmental buildings.

He added, “The reality of the lagging projects and their financing mechanisms will be reviewed, to resume work on them and complete them as soon as possible, and whose completion rates are advanced, to complete them this year in order to provide service to citizens.”

He pointed out, "The first day witnessed the discussion of projects for a number of ministries and entities not affiliated with a ministry, namely the House of Representatives, the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministry of Trade, the Counter-Terrorism Service, the National Intelligence Service, and the Independent High Electoral Commission."
