The PM joins the Mandaeans in their celebrations of (Creation Day)

Baghdad The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, participated this morning in the celebrations of our people from the Sabean-Mandaean sect, with (Creation Day).

The media office of the Prime Minister stated: “A celebration was held on the occasion, in the presence of the head of the sect in Iraq and the world, Sattar Jabbar Helou, the representative of the Sabian bloc, Osama Al-Badri, the dignitaries of the sect and a group of its members.”

Al-Sudani offered congratulations and blessings to all Mandaean Iraqis, and toured the baptismal ground on the Tigris River, where religious rituals were held.

He also met a number of Mandaean families participating in the ceremony, blessed them with their Eid, listened to their demands, and directed that they be followed up.

The Prime Minister indicated his keenness to participate in the Mandaean community’s participation in their Eid, to confirm his care for it, stand up for its needs and support its presence in the thriving Iraqi society with its pluralism and its various economic, cultural and social elites.

He affirmed his pride in the Iraqi components, and the government’s keenness to sponsor them, and this has been translated into its program in projects and programs that will contribute to the consolidation of diversity, which we consider a source of pride for Iraq and a source of strength and prosperity./ End
