Diyala: The Diyala Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) launched a joint security operation today in coordination with security forces within its area of responsibility in Diyala Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the PMF stated in a press release that the operation was conducted along two axes and under the direct field supervision of the PMF’s Diyala Operations Commander, Talib al-Moussawi. It included raids and searches in the forests and valleys of the Abu Karma and al-Mukhaisa areas, which border the southern bank of the Diyala River.

The statement added that the operation involved units from the army and the federal police and aims to prevent any attempts by remnants of ISIS to establish hideouts, open safe houses, or redeploy in those areas.
