The President of the Republic and Plasschaert stress the importance of supporting the government in implementing its programme

Baghdad The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, met with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Jeanine Plasschaert.

The media office of the Presidency of the Republic stated, “During the meeting, they discussed the general situation in the country, and the existing efforts to address many files related to improving the conditions of citizens and the economic situation, and confirming the government’s support in implementing its program and responding to the aspirations of the Iraqi people and improving their living and service conditions.”

It added that: “The role of the United Nations mission was discussed, as the President stressed the importance of working and coordinating with the Iraqi authorities in addressing many issues, especially the issue of the displaced by providing all the necessary requirements and needs to improve their difficult living conditions and work on their safe return to their homes and cities, and closing the displacement file. in the country”.

The two sides stressed the importance of consolidating security and stability in the country, ensuring the safety of citizens, and enhancing communication and dialogue with neighboring countries in discussing files on the basis of common interests, mutual respect and sovereignty, in a way that supports the security and stability of the region and enhances cooperation in sectors of common interest.
