Baghdad, The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, met with the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Paula Ganley, on the occasion of the end of her tenure.

The President of the Republic stressed the importance of the existing relations between Iraq and Australia and the necessity of strengthening and developing them and exchanging experiences in areas of common interest in a way that achieves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries.

Rashid appreciated "Ambassador Ganley's efforts in developing bilateral relations between the two countries, wishing her success in her future work assignments."

For her part, Ambassador Paula Ganley "expressed her pride in working in Iraq during the recent period, stressing her country's aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
