Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, has called on Iraqis to actively participate in the forthcoming parliamentary elections and exercise their constitutional right to vote. He emphasized that widespread participation is crucial for bolstering democracy and enhancing security and stability in Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the President visited the headquarters of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) to assess the final preparations for election day. During his visit, President Rashid met with Chief Commissioner Judge Omar Ahmed Mohammed and members of the Board of Commissioners, with the UN Secretary-General's representative in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan, also present. The discussion focused on facilitating voter access and ensuring all logistical and technical requirements are met for a successful electoral process.

President Rashid stressed the importance of continuing Iraq's democratic journey with genuine national intent to fulfill the people's aspirations through free and transparent elections. He urged all Iraqis to engage in the elections, highlighting it as a vital step in consolidating democracy and supporting the stability of state institutions.

UN representative Mohammed Al-Hassan commended the President's visit to the IHEC, viewing it as evidence of his commitment to fair and transparent elections. He remarked that global attention will be on Iraq on November 11, a significant date in the nation's history and future, and noted that Iraq's elections rank among the most independent electoral processes in the Middle East.

Chief Commissioner Judge Omar Ahmed Mohammed expressed gratitude for the President's visit, acknowledging it as a substantial morale boost for the Commission at this critical juncture. He confirmed the IHEC's complete preparedness to conduct the elections in a secure and transparent manner. The judge also showcased a detailed simulation of the voting process to the President, covering all its stages. Concluding his visit, President Rashid expressed satisfaction with the organizational and technical measures in place, expressing confidence that these efforts would lead to elections that truly reflect the aspirations of Iraqis for a better future.
