The Secretary General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali discuss with the UN delegation the promotion of renewable energy projects

Najaf, The Secretary-General of the Imam Ali Holy Shrine, Issa Al-Khursan, received the delegation of the United Nations Development Program, accompanied by the team of the National Initiative to Support Energy and Reduce Carbon Emissions.

The head of the Department of Engineering and Technical Affairs at the Shrine, Eng. Mustafa Mahbouba, said in a statement that: “A joint meeting was held during which ways to open ways of cooperation on the possibility of using renewable energy in the projects of the Holy Shrine were discussed, with a review of the projects of the Holy Shrine in which clean energy is used.”

As a member of the National Initiative for Supporting Renewable Energy team, Eng. Rahim Al-Jaafari, said: “We came with the delegation of the National Initiative for Renewable Energy and the delegation of the United Nations Development Projects Program to negotiate with the United Nations team to discuss the establishment of renewable energy projects and the reduction of emissions harmful to the environment.”

It is noteworthy that the Holy Shrine established for some of its development facilities projects to generate clean energy to reduce dependence on old energy sources and to support the environment.
