Istanbul The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of the third Turkish soldier today in confrontation with militants from the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the areas of operations in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense stated in a statement this afternoon, Saturday, that Sergeant “Mustafa Yildiz” was wounded by Kurdish gunmen’s fire in the Claw Lock Operations area in northern Iraq and died after being transferred to a field hospital of the Turkish army.

The Turkish Defense had announced earlier today that two Turkish soldiers had been killed in clashes with Kurdish militants within the Claw Lock operations area in northern Iraq.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish Defense had announced earlier the killing of six officers and 40 soldiers in its operations against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants in northern Iraq. soldiers and wounding 29 others since its operations began on the eighteenth of last April.
