Three Continental Federations Criticize FIFA President Infantino’s Leadership

Brussels: The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and its Asian and North American counterparts (CONCACAF) have jointly declared that football does not belong to any single individual.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the three continental federations emphasized in an open letter to the football community that leadership in football should not be viewed as a possession. They highlighted the importance of not clinging to power or asserting control over the sport.

The federations further stated that when trust is eroded through deceptive practices, and an individual elevates himself above the collective that granted him authority, he has effectively relinquished his responsibility.

The letter also criticized FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s proposal to sell a stake in the World Cup, labeling it as a “complete failure” and a significant breach of trust, rather than a mere procedural oversight.
