Baghdad: The Anti-Human Trafficking Directorate of the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency dismantled three dangerous criminal networks involved in human trafficking in Baghdad, including an international network specializing in organ trafficking and exploiting victims through the illegal sale of kidneys.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior stated in a press release: "This successful operation was carried out following meticulous intelligence efforts and intensive field surveillance, based on documented information and proper judicial approvals. It resulted in the arrest of several members of these networks and the seizure of evidence proving their involvement in their criminal activities."

The statement added: "All the accused have been referred to the competent judiciary to take legal action against them." The Ministry reiterated its determination to continue pursuing organized crime networks, drying up their sources, and firmly confronting anyone who dares to trade in human dignity or exploit human needs, in order to preserve the security of society and the rule of law.
