Latakia: Three people were killed and 60 others injured in violent clashes that erupted in the city of Latakia. The clashes followed an attack by groups described by authorities as “remnants of the former regime” on internal security forces and civilians during protests in the city.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Latakia Health Directorate stated in a special statement to the official Syrian news agency SANA that hospitals received various injuries resulting from the use of bladed weapons, stones, and gunfire. The directorate indicated that the attacks targeted both security personnel and civilians.
The Directorate also explained that two ambulances were taken out of service after being attacked and vandalized while on duty. It affirmed that medical personnel continued to provide necessary first aid and handle emergency cases without interruption.
