Diyala: Three suspects have been apprehended for their involvement in trading and selling counterfeit US dollars in the Muqdadiyah district market, as announced by the Diyala Police Command.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests were made following precise intelligence provided by the National Security Service. A collaborative effort by a joint force from the Diyala Police, the Muqdadiyah Anti-Crime Department, and the Intelligence Office led to the capture of the suspects in the Muqdadiyah market, located northeast of Baqubah.
The Police Command reported that the operation resulted in the seizure of counterfeit currency amounting to approximately $26,000. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and they have been handed over to the appropriate authority for further investigation.
Diyala Police Command emphasized the ongoing commitment to crack down on activities that threaten the local economy and the well-being of citizens through the distribution of counterfeit currency.
