Tokyo Olympics: Poland’s Wlodarczyk is the first woman in history to win three gold medals in one competition

Baghdad Poland’s Anita Wlodarczyk, champion of London 2012 and Rio 2016, became the first female athlete in history to win three Olympic gold medals in the final of the hammer throw competitions, and rise to the podium in Tokyo, just as she did at the World Athletics Championships in London 2017.

With a throw at a distance of 78.48 meters, Wlodarczyk won her third Olympic title in a row, ahead of China’s Wang Cheng, who in her last attempt reached a distance of 77.03 meters, while Poland’s Malwena Koprun took the bronze with a record of 75.49 metres.

The four-time world champion and the European champion several times, succeeded in being the first shooter to exceed 80 metres, and was the best in the qualifying round (76.99 metres).
