Boumas: A tornado struck southwestern France, injuring 41 people and damaging about 300 homes in the village of Boumas, with 15 of the injured hospitalized, according to French authorities. Power outages and disruptions to train, road, and air traffic were reported in several areas, prompting the issuance of an orange alert across large parts of the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the village of Boumas, with a population of about 1,000, was among the hardest hit, with the tornado damaging about 300 homes and tearing roofs off several. The French national weather service, M©t©o-France, recorded winds of 117 kilometers per hour in the neighboring village of Arquette-en-Vall.

French authorities declared an orange alert due to the storms in large areas of the southwest, where power outages and transportation disruptions were reported.
