Trabzon: Trabzonspor continued their pursuit of the top two in the Turkish Super Lig, defeating Kayserispor 3-1 in their match this evening, concluding the 25th round of the competition.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, with this result, Trabzonspor raised their points tally to 54, remaining in third place and reducing the gap to 7 points behind leaders Galatasaray and 3 points behind second-placed Fenerbahce. Kayserispor’s points total remained at 20, placing them 17th.
The home side suffered an early blow when their player, Dorukhan Tokoz, was shown a straight red card in the eighth minute after a VAR review for a dangerous tackle on Ivorian player Christ Olaye, forcing them to play the remainder of the match with ten men.
Trabzonspor waited until the 45+2 minute to open the scoring through Nigerian Paul Onuachu, who met a cross from Cape Verdean Wagner Pena with a powerful header.
