Diwaniyah: A training course for football referees from the provinces of Diwaniyah, Wasit, and Samawah has commenced in Diwaniyah. The Diwaniyah Football Association, in collaboration with the Referees Committee and Department of the Iraqi Football Association and the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Qadisiyah University, is hosting the event.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the course is being led by Captain Kadhim Awda, an esteemed lecturer and assessor from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The training has attracted the participation of fifty federal referees from the three provinces. Salah Hassan, Vice President of the Diwaniyah Football Association, emphasized the course's focus on several critical topics. These include the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game and their practical application, the importance of physical fitness in refereeing, and the integration of modern technologies in the field.

The course aims to equip referees with the necessary skills and knowledge to adapt to the evolving nature of football. By doing so, the organizers hope to prepare referees who are competent and experienced enough to meet the demands of the game as it continues to develop.
