Karbala: A tribal conference was held in the holy city of Karbala, attended by Engineer Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, the Director General of Tribal Affairs, and tribal sheikhs from the Middle Euphrates governorates. The conference, organized by the governorate’s Tribal Affairs Department, was held under the slogan: “Iraqi Tribes: The Roots of Society and the Support of the State.” During his address at the conference, the governor emphasized that Iraqi tribes represent an integral component of Iraqi society and have a historical and active presence throughout the various stages Iraq has undergone.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the conference aimed to highlight the importance of the tribes’ role in strengthening social cohesion, consolidating the values of cooperation and solidarity, and maintaining social peace. The governor explained that the relationship between the state and the tribes is based on integration and cooperation, which enhances the state’s authority and the rule of law.

He noted that these positions confirm that the Iraqi tribe has been and remains a fundamental partner in preserving the social and national fabric and promoting the values of moderation, tolerance, and coexistence, thus contributing to supporting the state and consolidating social stability.
