Truck Drivers in Wasit Demand Lower Fees and Increased Fuel Quota

Wasit: Truck drivers from various districts and sub-districts of Wasit Governorate gathered near the Kut-Maysan checkpoint in protest. They called for the cancellation or reduction of fees imposed on them while traveling between governorates. Additionally, the drivers demanded the restoration of their fuel ration to 300 liters instead of the current 250 liters of diesel.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the demonstrators expressed that the current fuel ration is insufficient for their work requirements. The drivers highlighted the long distances they travel to transport construction materials from quarries, emphasizing the need for an increased fuel allowance. They urged the relevant authorities to take their demands into consideration and ensure they receive fair treatment.
