Baqubah: A joint security detachment in Diyala Governorate successfully intercepted a truck carrying smuggled alcoholic beverages concealed beneath construction gravel, on the outskirts of Muqdadiyah District, northeast of Baqubah.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director of Media for Diyala Police, Brigadier General Haitham Al-Shammari, stated that the operation was conducted under the direct supervision of the Commander of Diyala Police. The seizure was made possible through intensified efforts at security checkpoints, where rigorous inspections of people and vehicles are being carried out. The joint security detachment, comprising members from the Muqdadiyah Police and the checkpoints affairs department in the Haruniya area, identified the large truck with its illicit cargo.

All legal procedures were promptly undertaken, and the vehicle, along with the seized materials, was transferred to the Organized Crime Combating Department for further investigation.
