Baghdad: US President Donald Trump announced on Friday his withdrawal from the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza. Trump said in press statements: “We have withdrawn from the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza,” adding, “I think Hamas will be pursued.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump added, “Hamas knows what will happen after all the hostages are returned, and that’s why they don’t want to reach an agreement. There will have to be a fight and the elimination of Hamas.”

He explained that “Hamas doesn’t want to reach an agreement,” noting that “it will be difficult to recover the remaining hostages in Gaza because Hamas knows it will have no bargaining papers.”

Trump continued, “We have contributed to the release of a large number of hostages in Gaza, and the process of releasing the remaining hostages held by Hamas will be more difficult.”
