Baghdad: US President Donald Trump appeared enthusiastic during a New York Yankees game in New York on Thursday evening, sitting in the VIP box behind bulletproof glass, amid heightened security measures following the assassination of activist Charlie Kirk, one of his most prominent supporters.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the security team had increased its security measures after the recent incidents, while a video clip showed Trump interacting enthusiastically with the crowd, receiving a mixture of applause and whistles.

Before the game, Trump visited the home team's locker room and shook hands with the players and staff members, speaking about his long-standing relationship with former club owner George Steinbrenner. During the game, he sat next to team president Randy Levine.

During the playing of the national anthem, Trump appeared on the giant screen and was greeted with a mixture of applause and whistles. In the second round, his image was shown again on the screen while the anthem 'Hail to the Chief' was playing, and he smiled and waved his fist amid mixed audience reaction.
