Baghdad:According to National Iraqi News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he is contemplating the resumption of military strikes against Iran. This consideration coincides with anticipated negotiations with Tehran scheduled for this week.

In remarks reported by Axios, President Trump stated that the U.S. military is currently facilitating the passage of substantial quantities of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, with over 20 million barrels transported over the past weekend. This volume represents the largest oil movement since the onset of the conflict.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared that Tehran is fully prepared for the potential resumption of war. In an interview with NBC, Araghchi emphasized Iran’s firm stance against any new aggression, even if it escalates into a full-scale, destructive conflict. He also highlighted Iran’s readiness for diplomatic engagement, noting that the decision ultimately rests with President Trump.
