Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on the social media platform “Truth” that he had a productive phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss the recent trade agreement between the United States and China.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump shared that the conversation lasted approximately an hour and a half, concluding on a positive note beneficial to both nations. The discussion primarily centered on trade issues, with no mention of the Russia/Ukraine or Iran situations.

During the call, both leaders agreed that there is no room for questions regarding the complexity of rare earth products. Teams from both countries are set to meet soon at a yet-to-be-determined location. The United States will be represented by Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and Trade Representative Ambassador Jameson Greer at these forthcoming meetings.

Trump also mentioned that President Xi and the First Lady extended an official invitation for him to visit China, which he reciprocated. He emphasized the significance of this constructive exchange between the two major nations, noting that the date and location of the next meeting will be announced soon.
