Washington: Axios reported on Wednesday that the US administration is nearing a large-scale military confrontation in the Middle East, noting that “the current military buildup exceeds expectations and could begin very soon.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, sources stated that “any anticipated US military operation will be a massive campaign lasting weeks,” suggesting it will be a joint US-Israeli attack, far larger in scope than previous operations, which would have dramatic effects on the entire region and major repercussions for the remaining three years of the current US presidency.
The report added that “the US administration has pursued a dual track combining nuclear talks with a massive military buildup,” indicating that “expectations have risen regarding the nature of the military operation should a diplomatic agreement fail, which does not seem likely at present.”
