Trump Orders US Military Strikes on Houthis in Yemen

Washington: US President Donald Trump announced today the launch of US strikes against the Houthis in Yemen. Trump declared this decision in a tweet on his Truth Social account, emphasizing the necessity of the operation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump stated, “Today I ordered the US military to launch a decisive and forceful military operation against the Houthis in Yemen.” He highlighted the significance of the operation by referencing the safe passage of American-flagged commercial ships through strategic waterways such as the Suez, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden over the past year.

Trump further asserted that no force will be allowed to hinder the free navigation of American commercial and naval vessels through global waterways. He underscored the commitment to ensuring the safety and freedom of these routes, which are vital for international trade and security.

The operation, as explained by Trump, involves targeting Houthi bases, leaders, and defenses. The objective is to protect American shipping interests and restore the freedom of navigation in the region.
