Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the outcome of ongoing negotiations concerning the Ukrainian crisis will be disclosed within the next two weeks. Addressing reporters at the White House, Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of the conflict, stating, “Nothing about this conflict makes me happy. We’ll see what happens later, and I believe that within the next two weeks, we will discover the course of events.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump acknowledged that a potential meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may not produce immediate results. He indicated that he will make a “critical decision” regarding the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, which could involve implementing sanctions, imposing tariffs, or “taking no action.”

Trump elaborated on his decision-making timeline, stating, “In two weeks, you will know the course of events. By that time, I believe I will understand Russia’s approach, and frankly, Ukraine’s approach. Ultimately, there are two paths, and I will make my decision after that.”

Additionally, Trump speculated that Russian President Putin is expected to attend the World Cup scheduled to take place in the United States next year.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that Putin is prepared to meet with Zelensky once the summit’s agenda is finalized. Lavrov pointed out that Zelensky has rejected all Ukrainian settlement proposals deemed necessary by Trump. In an interview with Western media, Lavrov stated, “No date for the meeting has been set. Putin is ready to meet Zelensky when the summit agenda is ready, and that agenda is not ready at all.”
